We’ve heard that loose green tea will speed up metabolism and weight loss.

Green tea is also known for its diuretic and antioxidant actions, as well as to accelerate metabolism.

Loose Green Tea is Known Worldwide for Health Benefits

Originally from Asia, green tea is already known worldwide for its diuretic properties, antioxidant actions and extensive vitamin content.  It’s used successfully in many regimens and diets, and many anti-aging face creams include green tea among their ingredients.

Some experts say that loose green tea reduces the risk of cancer, especially stomach and colon cancer.

Properties of Loose Green Tea


Loose green tea is prepared differently from other teas, whose leaves are left to ferment.

After collection, green tea leaves are dried immediately, thus obtaining a lower content of theine (caffeine).  This makes green tea much less stimulating than black tea.

Another benefit of collecting and drying green tea leaves is that loose green tea has a high content of vitamins and minerals.  Green tea contains rich vitamins A, B, C, E, and minerals like iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium.

• Has diuretic and detoxifying properties – Another beneficial effect of loose green tea is that it is diuretic and detoxifying.  Green tea is used successfully in the treatment of weight loss.  Drinking green tea on a regular basis also maintains low levels of triglycerides and cholesterol.
• Reduces risk of decay – another substance contained in green tea is fluorine, which helps maintain healthy teeth.  If you drink a cup of green tea daily, the risk of cavities is cut in half.
• Regulates digestion – Green tea has a laxative effect.  Loose green tea is recommended by doctors in cases of chronic constipation.
• Energizing effect – Although it has a much lower caffeine content than black tea, green tea provides energizing effects and is used in treating chronic fatigue.  This feeling is more stimulating than coffee and it seems to increase concentration.

Preparation of Loose Green Tea Infusion

To prepare an infusion of loose green tea, boil a liter of water.  Remove from heat and add one teaspoon of loose green tea.  Let it infuse for 10 minutes.

If you do not like strong tea taste, add two tablespoons of honey and a lemon slice in each cup of green tea.  This makes a very pleasant drink.

To protect from free radicals in the environment and to tone and maintain your health, it is good to drink at least one cup of green tea per day.

If you’re working on losing a few pounds, add green tea to your regimen!  Try to drink 3 – 4 cups of green tea per day.  The diuretic and detoxifying effects will help you quickly shed those extra pounds.

It is good to drink your tea in the morning and lunch, because otherwise it may cause insomnia.
